Backyard Toxic Dumping
This is a picture of backyard toxic dumping. It happened yesterday, and it was the second time in a week. Our neighbor across the lake thought it would be convenient to rid himself of unwanted substances. When we have a lake in our backyard, this is the purpose of it, right? To convenience our lives in a variety of ways. Of course. Why did I not think of that? After all, the sediment was causing the water to look a little muddy, and brown. Why not spice it up? Is not water meant to be blue?
I have to remind myself to breathe each time I think about it. When I saw what was going on, I was seething, wrap 'em up angry! I felt so disgusted and enraged that tears welled up in my eyes. I cannot sufficiently emphasize that it is no fun to watch a little turtle afloat amidst it all. Both dumpings were of such volume that they colored the entire lake. I waited until it had dispersed enough my way, so that I could get this shot. All the while exclaiming to my better-half about that new camera, and receiving answer to just buy it already!
I did what any sane person in their right mind would do. I took off my terry-cloth slipper, and aimed for the other side of the lake. Yet, in a split second the wind swooped it back only to hit me in the face. Dry terry-cloth slippers do not....Oh, forget it. Who gave the wind permission to blow in the middle of an environmental crises, anyhow? I did not actually do this, however behold my anger!
Do you all want to know the zinger of this whole story? This neighbor had his two young children help him in his crime. Learn by example, right?
